
James S Davis DA RSW
Born in Glasgow in 1944, James S Davis studied at Glasgow schools of Art from 1963-67.
A renowned landscape, figurative and portrait artist in both watercolour and oils, James has been a regular exhibitor for over 35 years with The Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, The Royal Scottish Watercolour Society and Paisley Art Institute.
He is a former council member of The Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and founder member of "The Scottish Ruralists".
Recent awards include the David Cargill Award (RGI, 2003) and the Reid Kerr painting prize (PAI, 2004).
James was elected to the RSW in 2003.
